Elvis + Yoga = Blowin the Scene!
Friday, October 16th, 2009jack-o-lantern
Monday, October 12th, 2009loving
gray days and black coffee
the spot with the leafy salad and bread so thick it cuts like cake
loving
the trees, colorful in dying, celebrating
confetti
bits of self on the wind
loving
the ritual of october
pumpkin face
my little pumpkin
you are not that scary with that face
missing a tooth, big smile and downturned
eyebrows
you cannot scare me
i still see
your light inside.
bones
Monday, October 12th, 2009things coming out of closets
fallen bones
the scared ones
the bones i clinged to
(flesh hugging tentacles)
now sacred
bones
falling like drum-syllables
bones
to step-over in crooked mazes
are they mine or yours?
are they mine or yours?
and the teeth fell last
the ones that didn’t part to say Anything
the ones
that didn’t clomp together like cymbals
to Pronounce
Any
Words Of Love
Like Goodbye, for a reason
like,
take it slow…..
the bones were used for chopping off things
human saws, parting ways through, the quickest
bones
eventually dissolving into sponges
fallen spores
whisper dust of the stuff that used to make us
so real and solid
(i whispered this week for you
and i
when i wanted to yell
anger
finally surfacing
when i can no longer say it:
real as bones
and as impermanent)
Fierce Light Workshops: NYC and San Fran, with Velcrow Ripper!
Friday, October 9th, 2009I just got back from San Fran, where I explored the beatpoet.yogi.dharmabum lineage, friendship, and got to help out at my friend Velcrow Ripper’s great workshop, “Fierce Light: Spirit in Action.”

Check out Velcrow’s film, Fierce Light!
The workshop goes along with it….like an extended Q&A you ask yourself.
How do we take the fruits of our spiritual practices out into the world? What does a peaceful warrior look like off the mat? The cushion? One of my favorite parts of the film is when Thich Nhat Hanh spoke…”If you hear bombs outside the meditation hall, you have to get off the cushion and go help. But if you’re involved in social work all the time, you might neglect your practice.”
This weekend is the Fierce Light workshop, NYC style…for more info, look HERE We’d love to meditate, yoga, question and explore with you!
